Energy Conservation - residential Customers

 

Residential Customer,

To promote Energy Conservation, Hutchinson Utilities Commission (HUC) is offering a rebate up to $500 per year to residents of Hutchinson who perform energy conservation improvements to their home.

This rebate is available on a first-come/first served basis, until funds are depleted. Rebates are offered on items that are installed while funding is in effect. In the event the program is discontinued due to depleted funds, HUC will not provide a rebate for items installed between the discontinued date and the end of that year.

Residential Energy Conservation items and Rebate Amounts are limited to:

Natural Gas Furnaces, "High Efficiency" (AFUE 92%--$150) (AFUE 94%>---$250)
Natural Gas Furnaces "Tune-up" (biennial) ---$25
ECM motor for furnace/ac motor upgrade for new installs or existing unit $75
Natural Gas Boilers AFUE 85%>---$200
Central Air Conditioners "Energy Star" (14.5> SEER---$250)
Central Air Conditioners "Tune-up" (biennial) ---$25
Gas Hot Water Heater (Tank less) (EF .82>) ---$150

All natural gas installations such as gas furnaces, gas boilers, water heaters, heat pumps, and tune-ups must be installed by a licensed professional contractor. Receipts and application shall reflect contractor's name, signature and fees. This offer is effective from January 1, 2012 until funds are depleted. Purchases made prior to January 1, 2012 will not be accepted for rebate. Feel free to contact HUC at (320) 587-4746 for additional details.

Return your original paid detailed receipt and application form (name on application must match name on utility bill) and HUC will reimburse you for the amount indicated on the Residential Rebate list up to a maximum of $500 per household per year. The application forms are available at the HUC office at 225 Michigan St. or print them from this page using the link on the left. Once the application has been approved, a check will be mailed to you within 4-6 weeks.
